DeWitt County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, retrieve a booking photo, alter a court case, or answer for the Sheriff, Jail, police departments, Circuit Clerk, or Illinois DOC. The contacts below route a records question to the office that can actually answer it. Use the live agency page before traveling because hours, phone procedures, and record availability can change.

This private service is not affiliated with a Sheriff, jail, police department, court, corrections department, or other government agency. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Information from this service or a linked provider may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or any other FCRA-covered purpose. Messages sent here cannot produce an official custody confirmation or record.

Choose the Office by Question

Start with the record custodian rather than a broad request. The DeWitt County Jail answers a narrow current-custody question. The arresting agency holds its report. The Circuit Clerk and Judici hold the case trail. IDOC handles current state custody and its own records.

County Sheriff, Jail, and FOIA

DeWitt County Sheriff

101 West Washington Street
Clinton, IL 61727

Administration: 217-935-9507
Dispatcher: 217-935-3196

County materials identify Sheriff Mike Walker. Administrative hours are listed as 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Sheriff FAQ names the DeWitt County State’s Attorney as county FOIA officer and lists 217-935-7810.

DeWitt County Jail

101 West Washington Street
Clinton, IL 61727

217-935-2913

The jail page says staff can confirm incarceration and bond amount, not charges, court dates, or medical information, through that telephone confirmation.

Use the jail number for the limited custody answer. Use a written request for a report, booking record, custody movement record, or photo. The Sheriff’s about page lists fees for accident or incident reports and record checks, but no booking-photo fee. Ask for the current duplication charge tied to the exact record.

Municipal Records Routes

Clinton Police lists 118 West Washington Street, Clinton, Illinois 61727, non-emergency 217-935-9441, and city contact 217-935-9438. Its FOIA page lists City Administrator handling, a typical five-business-day response, form delivery options, fax 217-935-4136, and phone 217-935-6552. The page renders the email as tharris@clintonillinois.com in the source material, although one block drops the at sign, so confirm before sending.

Farmer City Police lists 105 South Main Street, Farmer City, Illinois 61842, and 309-928-2111. Its forms page says a request should include the requester’s name, mailing address, contact information, and record description, and links the city FOIA form. The $15 LexisNexis charge described there is for an accident report, not a booking photograph.

Wapella’s village contact page lists 312 Main Street, P.O. Box 148, Wapella, Illinois 61777, and 217-935-3259. No municipal police page was located. Arrest questions should go to the Sheriff or the agency named in the report, while village staff handle village administrative questions.

Clerk, Court, and State Custody

The Circuit Clerk is at 201 West Washington Street, Clinton, Illinois 61727, telephone 217-935-7750, fax 217-935-7759. The office lists Monday through Friday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a noon-to-1:00 p.m. lunch closure. The clerk page links Judici, court forms, Illinois Court Help, and legal-assistance resources. Court information can lag a report and is not a booking-photo source.

For an Illinois sentence or parole status, use IDOC’s current search. IDOC’s FOIA route has its own Springfield address, email, response period, and copy rules. Do not ask IDOC for a DeWitt County Jail booking photo. For federal or immigration custody, use BOP or ICE, whose scopes are separate from county custody.

Bring a narrow request. Give the office the full name, approximate date, agency, and record type. Ask for segregable material and the statutory reason for a withholding.

Messages About This Reference

Questions about a broken link, a source label, or a general navigation issue may be sent through the service’s available contact method. A message cannot make the Sheriff confirm custody, make a city release a police report, make the Circuit Clerk change a case, or make IDOC release a former-person photo. Source agencies remain the only proper route for official verification.

Do not send identity documents, medical details, or sensitive personal material to a private reference service. For a legal question about expungement or sealing, use current Illinois Courts forms, the Circuit Clerk, legal aid, or a qualified attorney. The site is not legal advice.
